I want to put this up on FB to troll my friends and family, but I won't do it because I do wish to have a few of each left. ;-)
Seems relatively plausible but some parts might be wishful thinking and the main purpose of the article is to attract funding by claiming they will have a portfolio on necessary patents on amino acids. (Which is somewhat ridiculous and you'd end up travelling to India for cancer treatment)
I guess what is solid about it is that it is the traditional way of attacking the problem rather than an unlikely miracle twist..
There are several "close to solution" approaches this year. Maybe we'll get lucky AFTER we put the funding into it.
Does that mean we can now eat whatever the hell we want without any annoying people patronizing us ?
