They ter'riz and squabble and shoot at each other across the border there every few years. Nothing new, really... except that now, the world is changing in earnest. And one of these days, they will shoot n00ks at each other, and then India will take Pakistan... again.

This time they will probably ethnically cleanse the place for real. And then while they are at it, they might take back East Pakistan and cleanse that place too. It would certainly be to their advantage to do so if they can get away with it. With the whole world order in turmoil, now would be a really good time to do it, because they probably would get away with it. Who is going to stop them, Iran?

It would not be the 1st time ethnic cleansing takes place. There's a reason why the Partition left so many scars.

China has significant interests in Pakistan and considers them a key ally. China already has border disputes with India, but China also has economic interests in India too. China would likely play the mediator here before anything got too crazy.
