Looks more like a raccoon than a jackal.

I kind of hate them but I think it must be because I'm an incompetent person that pretty much never held a paintbrush except for painting a wall. I am painting a half a meter jupiter which involves mixing paints on the canvas and the fact that they dry so fast makes it quite a challenge and my painting speed was something like 10x10cm/hour or less. And then I started painting a portrait as a demo and unless I do the thing in one go my paints dry and I need to mix new colors that are different and whatnot.

Requires a different technique than painting a small area at the time. I've never actually tried painting the way you do :)

I am now doing a acrylic underpainting planning to cover it over by oils but it's really only a training exercise.

Is that like spreading Gesso on the canvas to add contours and them paint it?

I think some people start with acrylic and end with oils so they get more color and don't have a layering problem (you'd need to dilute the bottom layers a bit and I don't want to paint with thinners). But for me it's mostly easy practice..

Tigger's Landscape painting number one. I finished it yesterday but I'm already bored to death waiting for Louvre to call. The Mona Lisa they have is really olde by now. I guess they don't work on weekends.

I'm color blind unfortunately but I think I'd really enjoy painting. I could do gray scale paintings I guess but they'd be a bit morbid and dreary. I prefer the above painting, it evokes happiness.

Red-green? I have no idea what it looks like but I wouldn't worry too much about it, you won't accidentally mix red instead of green..
